Imelda was a sweet Guatemalan lady who was inspired to share her faith but didn’t know where to start. On her way home from a Timothy Initiative training she saw a group of guys drinking. She asked the Lord for the courage to go and share God’s story with them. They got mad and chased her off saying the only thing they cared about was food. So she went home and made them dinner. She did this for many weeks, and eventually they asked her to share her story with them. Within a few months they all got saved and stopped drinking. The owner of the bar was furious and tried to beat her up since she ruined his business by stealing his best customers.

In the end, the bar owner also became a Christian! This week I had the privilege of hearing this life changing story and others from Mynor Vargas, a dynamic pastor who runs a training center in Zacapa, Guatemala. I am so excited for the opportunity to partner with Mynor to help train and raise up pastors in Guatemala.

I was able to attend a Converge Network meeting of 20 pastors in Orlando last week. The Timothy Initiative team was able to cast vision about how to raise up disciples who make disciples here in the US. We had the privilege of brainstorming with one of the fathers of the church planting movement, Dr. George Patterson. I sat in awe as he shared powerful stories of God transforming families throughout South America.

“The devil has been busy doing everything in his power to divert and distract the people of God, and turn off their energies from pushing forward the great work of salvation.” Dr Patterson

Keep praying for us as we seek God to direct us, provide for us and protect us on the adventure He has called us to be apart of!
